Calling Mums in Bern area

Hi,

I am an english mother of 2 young girls (2 1/2 and 4 1/2) living in Muensingen. I would love to meet some other english speaking mums in the area to meet up with from time to time for a chat and for a chance for the children to play.

Anyone out there in the Bern / Thun area ?

Looking forward to hearing from you !

Sarah

My wife isn't a stay-at-home mom, but with our 3 small boys, and other friends with similar interests and family sizes, I believe you may want to get away from them from time to time.
My wife does some ELNO's (English Ladies Night Out) if you wish to participate and have some lady fun without the men around. Drop me a private message and I'll send your info to her.

Re: Calling Mums in Bern area

Hi,

Thanks a lot for the offer , but at the moment I'm mainly looking to find english speaking children for mine to play with so that they can keep their english up. My elder daughter's best friend is soon moving back to Ireland with her family and she is already sad about her leaving. We've been in Switzerland for 8 years now, and know quite a few people, but I've met most of them through work (I still work 50%) and I've found it hard to get to know other mums, especially since my eldest has started to have a full schedule. (I know, it will only get worse when she starts kindergarten and so on... )

Thanks again,

Sarah

You can have a look at Gymboree in Bern itself : http://gymboree.ch/e/about_us.html

Club for toddlers, where parents also take part. Plenty of English speaking mothers & fathers (majority)

Re: Calling Mums in Bern Area/babysitters thun?

Hi Sarah, We have a summer place in faulensee 10 minutes from thun, few minutes from spiez. We have a 2.5 year old boy and a 4 year old girl. We go most weekends in the summer. It would be fun to meet up if you are also around during the weekends!?

We were also wondering if you (or anyone else in the area) might have a babysitter to recommend? We are hoping to get out a bit more this summer (ie at night without the kids)....but don't know any babysitters in the area....Thanks for your help.

Looking forward to meeting up one of these days ....

Christine

Re: Calling Mums in Bern area

Hi Christine,

That sounds great. We often walk between Faulensee and Spiez with the children, and we also have a small sailing boat in Faulensee, so we are in the area quite a lot.

Send me a private message if you are going to be around and would like to meet up.

I'm afraid I can't be much help with babysitters - we haven't really solved that one ourselves. We have a neighbour who used to sit for us, but since she left school she doesn't want to do it any more.

Looking forward to meeting you all sometime,

Sarah

Re: Calling Mums in Bern area

Hi again,
I also see that the seems to be American English mother and baby groups.
Was wondering if any one knows of any British mother and baby groups in the Thun - Bern area. If not would any other mothers be interested in starting one?
