Can someone recommend a British lawyer who specialises in UK family law based in or close to Zurich who can advise on drafting a UK post-nuptial agreement for two British citizens resident in Switzerland? Can a UK agreement be drafted by a UK lawyer based in Switzerland and signed in Switzerland or is it necessary to go back to UK and have it drafted and signed there? Thank you.

I think you would have to consult a lawyer to get a proper legal opinion for this question.

Contact British Embassy or your local British vice-consul as they would know of any lawyers versed in UK law or, try the Swiss/UK chamber of commerce.

Hi, I've looked on the embassy site, but it's just a list of names. I was hoping that someone would have had experience and could recommend a English speaking international family law specialist in Zürich.
The Embassy lists these two that say they deal with divorce law, one does not have a website listed, and the other has a webste but no family law link.

I don't think those agreements have any validity under UK Law, unlike in the US.

oh, not for post nup, for child custody and maininance. He's threating to take e to high court.

Generally Lawyers specialiasing in UK Family law will be based in the UK!

BTW if your living here, I don't think you have to take the threates very seriousely as you would need an address in the UK for service, the documents have to be served in person, rather than by post in CH!

He is threatening to go to High Court for child abduction, even though we had a signed and witnessed agreement that we could live here. If he does, bilateral agreement say's that I would be forced to return to the UK and my child make a ward of the court, until judgement is made.
Fun huh?
Hence my UK lawyer suggested that I contact a Swiss Lawyer to find out what my options were within the law here.

You could try the Swiss Institute of Comparative Law.
They may be able to come up with some ideas.
I know that they deal with UK/Swiss lawyers.
