And how about your boyfriend taking the pill?
Actually I'm not sure one is out there yet .... | Quote: | | | | | Hi,
I was thinking about switching contraceptive pill to one of the new ones that mean less periods per year but some of the side effects don't sound too great. Has anyone tried them? Are they safe? Are the side effects really that bad. It would be so great to have less hassle!
Is there a good English speaking gynae in Lausanne who gives good advice?
Cheers

I don't think he knows which day it is half the time ! And not sure that would help with less periods, unless of course he forgets.... | Quote: | | | | | And how about your boyfriend taking the pill?

The side effect that I have was having headache 2 days before my period. | | | | | It seems these things work so differently for everyone, after a nightmare with Mercilon I will never touch any pill or ring or stick, ugh...

My Swiss gynecologist told me I had no other options when it came to contraception. After doing my own research I found this and am convinced that if more women knew about it they wouldn't agree to changing the chemistry of their body and risking all sorts of illness/side effects and harming the environment. Anyway, it is just my two cents. http://www.ladycomp.com/ | | | | | I am quite interested in this... Do you use it? Does it works? I also had some terrible experiences with pills so I am not using them anymore and I am desperately looking for something natural to prevent me from babies
Where did you buy your ladycomp? I also found Pearly on the Internet it seems cheaper.

As for doctors here, I can give no advise, sorry. | | | | | Yes, you can have an implanon implant at any gynecologist in Switzerland.
My gynecologist www.barbarabass.ch offers this service.

Where did you buy your ladycomp? I also found Pearly on the Internet it seems cheaper. | | | | | I've been using the Pearly for over 2 years now and it has been extremely reliable. Two of my friends have bought it and had positive experiences as well. In the beginning you have to form the habit of measuring your temp upon waking and it takes about 30 days for the computer to gather your personal body info. After that it is a piece of cake. There are around 6 days per month when you are ovulating. During that time you will get a red light and need to protect yourself during sex.
I bought my Peary at the big pharmacy in Bern's train station for 500 francs (this is much cheaper than the pill in the long run). Am considering upgrading to the Babycomp since is has more features including a light which I miss sometimes with the Pearly while measuring in the morning.

ulaula, I just bought my Ladycomp at www.ladycomputer.com
(I ordered it from GB and the company is in Germany, but I guess they send it worldwide). They also sell Pearly, even if it's not on the website. But Ladycomp seems to be the better choice, they gave me very good advice when I e-mailed to this have to send it back every second year for an expensive battery exchange - not necessary for Ladycomp. I just started, but already love it. And it's a great toy for my boy-friend! |

Personally, Seasonale made me bat-s**t crazy. But every pill is different for every woman.
That said, you can take any birth control pill the same way that you can Seasonale. I did a ton of research on it, and talked it over with my gyno. Seasonale is just a regular pill but perscribed so that you take it all at once. You can take any pill continuously for three to four months at a time (just skip the "blank" week where you usually get your period). You just have to get your Gyno to write the perscription correctly.
Before I got in the family way, I took an older pill called Demulen (also called Zovia). The older drugs are just as good, and sometimes have less side-effects than the latest and greatest.
Really, you just have to try a few to see what works for you.
