exactly the question my wife also wonders nowadays, however, we could not come to an answer here...

Are there any laser clinics (for laser hair removal) in Zurich?

If they are, which one you would consider better?

Recommendations based on experience are very appreciated.

Thx in advance!
What about http://www.triabeauty.co.uk/?
Their US site sells the same product for a much much cheaper price! Customer Service has confirmed with me that the charger is universal (will take 100-240V)!

I am seriously considering getting this - just trying to figure out how to get it to Zurich from the states

ps. have had great results with laser in the US in the past and I agree that Zurich laser prices are very comparable to American prices. I guess this might be to one of the only things that's not overly priced in Switzerland

Re: laser hair removal

Hello!
I was wondering if there are any skin doctors (Dermatologists) that have alexandrite or light sheer lasers?

Their price might be a little bit cheaper than what the clinics have!

Re: laser hair removal

well there are those guys at Feldeggstrasse 85... but tbh I have no idea if they're any good. there's also some new IPL institute at Bahnhofstrasse.

otherwise if you want hair removal in ahem sensitive places my girlfriend is a loyal customer of this sugaring studio in Zürich-Stadt.. they're at Rotbuchstrasse 30 I think..

I would just fly to FL, south FL has a large market and the prices are nice.

Are you suggesting that flying to Florida for laser hair removal is a viable option for people living in Switzerland based on price...

OK, so it's not the cheapest place on earth for such things but if you factor in a Transatlantic flight and accommodation costs you might just find the cheaper option being in Switzerland.

Re: laser hair removal

Well, you can combine the FL flight with other things/shopping

But do some research, it can be combined with a vacation as well.

But it might not be the best option if you need 1-3 sessions..

I wish to do this as well, hair is annoying..

Re: laser hair removal

Hi all, my missus just noticed an advert for a place called "skin clinic dermonde" - www.skin-clinic.ch - which ran a newspaper advert giving 50% off any treatments you pay for in advance for next year. Quite a decent offer.

But we started discussing this and realised it'd also be a fantastic idea for a scam: offer someone a huge discount if they pay for a year's treatment in advance, and then do a runner with the cash... So, perhaps this is unduly paranoid, but we wanted to to ask if anyone's heard of this place, or tried it at all?

Re: laser hair removal

I have been there, had two treatments on my underarms, there is less hair but I'm not a dark-haired lady so I guess you'd need more treatments to see any difference. I had to stop the treatments because of the medication I take making my skin photosensitive.

The lady who runs the place is Dutch and very friendly, the business has been running several years, I don't think it's just a scam but then there is never 100% guarantee. She is quite honest about what she can and can't do, I asked about thread veins on my face and she said she would prefer me to do that at a dermatologists as I would need many treatments with IPL and may still not be happy with the results.

Re: laser hair removal

Thanks Kittster, that's all very reassuring. We're conscious that the results may not be perfect, but at least with the deal the punt isn't quite as eye-watering to consider... just wanted to make sure they weren't some total fly-by-night operation.

When you do certain treatments like laser hair removal you really need 4-6 (or 6-8, or whatever) treatments. Most people do not actually do all the treatments, some really need all of the, some are happy with the results after 4 and not 6, or they go to another place to finish, etc. So it's not unusual to get a big discount to "lock yourself in". Note though that you usually won't get your money back if you don't complete the treatments.

It's a risk. If you hate the person you are locked into or they are not good you've pretty much lost money. Also if you don't really need 6 treatments but you've paid for them then you've lost money. Sometimes you may even need 6 treatments but over 2 or more years and not all in one year, you might lose money. So locking in although it looks good, it's not always the best option.

Personally I don't like being locked in. I went to one place that they were so unpleasant it was not nice to go there. Then one girl burnt me & I lost my last two sessions as I never went back to that place!

Also, you have to make sure that the laser you want to use is right from your skin type and color, etc. And to be honest, the IPL is really not the best option at all for hair removal.

I'm doing lhr right now, actually I'm going today and it's with a Sheer Light Duet laser. Let me just say it's really amazing! It's super fast and doesn't hurt practically at all, not nearly as much as other lasers. I need to find someone who uses the Duet in Europe.

Re: laser hair removal

Hi,

I wonder why do they have IPL machines only? Is laser not permitted in Switzerland? I was thinking about buying Laser and offering treatments here as an addition to my massage service as I won't be able to do massage forever so I really would like to expand slowly offering other treatments.
From what I know there is a difference and IPL is not as effective as laser. If you own IPL machine it gives possibility do other treatments with it such as photo rejuvenation (really effective) but for hair removal laser is much better.
Anyone knows if I could order alexandrite/light sheer laser and start working here (after the proper training with certificate) or is there a special law for this? I am sure that special licence for offering this type of treatments in Switzerland will be required but at the moment I have no idea where to go with this question. Any ideas?

switzerland is really uncompetetive(...) quality of laser clinics is actually lower here than in germany, as they don't usually even have lasers in laser clinics here (funny, isn't it?) , they have IPL only, which is less effective. (sometimes only option for very sensetive skins, but for normal skins, different treatments are much better)
it's stupid , but that's how it is. Switzerland wants me to export my hard earned swissies abroad? no problem with me.
unless i really missed some normal-priced laser clinic here. please point me to one if you know any.

They don't only have IPL machines. Laser is permitted here but it must be done by a dermatologist or at least under dermatologist supervision.

Re: laser hair removal

I'd recommend the BodyClinic. I don't know whether it's expencive or not, but now after 4 treatments I've almost finished my armpits there. It was quite painful, but the doctor(nice guy, by the way!) warned me about it.

It should be: nice and handsome guy by the way. Fixed it for you.

I also recommed bodyclinic.ch but I did acoustic wave sessions to reduce cellulitis and it does work. I bought 5 sessions and the skin is tighter and smoother now just after 5, not like with endermogie where you need to get at least 10 sessions to notice any changw. It is not permanent result so needs to be repeated once a while but the doctor was also very honest with what can and can't be done. I went there to ask about stretch marks and he said there are no effective treatments to remove them and these that are available today are painful and the results are often not satisfying. I like his honesty. I will probably go there again for laser depilation. I do not recommend IPL as it is not permanent. The best laser at the moment is proably vectus Palomar but I can't find it in Zurich.

Re: laser hair removal

I can recommend a small practice on limmatquai 116 in Zurich called style cosmetics. the lady there is extremely diligent and the procedure is painless due to a cooling device.
The result is absolutely great. Price depends on how much hair you have, but I don't think it's expensive. more info on PM:-)

I wouldn't even waste a penny on laser!

Any other method is better and cheaper.... And Electrolysis remains the best, when it comes to permanent hair removal!

Re: laser hair removal

I know it's an old thread, but thought I'd ask here.

Has anyone done any laser treatment around Aarau, Luzern, Lenzburg or Sursee?
Zurich would also be ok if the price and quality is right.

How many sesions did you need and how much per sesion?

Are you happy with the result?

Important wuss alert: was it painful?

Does it show that I'm thinking about doing it?

Thanks

I can only relate to wuss part and it already sounds very painful. Probably it would be reasonable to say that it very much depends on which part of the body the hair were going to be removed from. Well, at least it's true in case of male hair removal
