Tip: Relief in finding good school

Just wanted to share my relief in finding a really great school for my daughter last year which I used as a testing ground for a year to see if it suited her before enroling both my daughter and son this year. Its private and English is pushed but they refuse to put the international nor the bilingual tag on!!The children are really looked after its almost home away from home and the fees are reasonable -Its Ecole Blancpain in the Vevey region - well looking into!
Have a great day everyone.
Tedb

Re: Tip: Relief in finding good school

Are you still happy with your choice Tedb? What do you like/dislike about the school and do you have any other experience to compare it to? Most importantly are your children enjoying it and gaining a good education?

I looked at Blancpain and liked its small size and bilingualism, and that most students didn't seem to be expats but locals. However, as other posters have pointed out Swiss (as opposed to International) private schools apart from one or two elite schools generally are not considered of a high acadaemic quality and tend to deal with the 'problem' children who are failing in the state system. Where do you think does Blancpain fit in with this view of the swiss model?

Tobe, Tedb is unlikely to se your post since he submitted his OP 2 months ago. I suggest you PM or email him if you really want his advice.

And now I bet Tedb responds on this thread in the next 10 minutes. I was just trying to be helpful ...

Thanks for pointing that out 22 Yards. Perhaps I'll repost as a new thread since this school doesn't get mentioned anywhere else.
