French vs Swiss education for kids: comparison

We are trying to make an intelligent choice as we can work either in France or in Switzerland (most likely French speaking part). One of the very big factors in our decision would be the quality of future education for our son (now 5), i.e. primary and up to high school. Does anyone have any experience with both systems, preferably not with international schools, but with good (or very good) local (in France and Switzerland)?

Thanks an advance,
Marvin
