The sticky tabs belong to the back, as they come around and attach to the bellyside of the subhuman thingy's diaper. If you can see which tabs are not sticky, they belong at the front.
If it's a boy. Dunno about girls.

These are the no-sticky-tabs ones - pull-ups.
I think the idea is that when the kid is being potty-trained, they can be pulled down when necessary and then pulled up again.
It's all these modern inventions which confuse us. We had terry towelling nappies and safety pins and we knew which way round everything went...

I'm not sure that posting this photo is not an infringement of some law or other... or maybe my sense of fairness is working overtime.

5 minutes before your wife gets back whip off the nappy - say you were letting him get some air to his bits as you thought he had a rash... then you don't have to worry about being found out if it is on back to front.....
just keep some kitchen roll to the ready incase.....

Should I draw a big red blotch on his bum with red marker pen, to enhance the deceit?

Could try but I think you'll get more brownie points for not and saying "the rash has all cleared up now"... you could follow up with "I don't know why you say looking after a baby is hard - I found it so easy" ..... then run

Good thinkng. I mean drinking.
As for the OP, be careful how you put on the diapers for your son or he might grow up wanting to wear these: |

There's nothing as rewarding as the spontaneous kiss and hug he gives me while his face is covered with spaghetti bolgnese, or the delighted cackles and chortles as he plays hide and seek behind his hands. Absolute gold, and I wouldn't want it any other way. Except that I'd like my career back, please.

Given that he is a chap, you should also endeavour to make sure the willy is pointing south in the nappy or he'll end up with a wet belly / T-shirt.
Otherwise he should man-up and use the bog like everyone else... | | This user would like to thank Sandgrounder for this useful post: | |

I faced the same question a couple of weeks ago, when we opened our first pack of Little Walkers.
Took a look at the picture of the toddler on the packaging: the "whole" Pooh character is on the front, so the Tigger peeping out the zipper must be the back-side.
That's how we're doing it, anyway.

We throw our nappy wrappers out and stack the nappies in a basket, so I didn't have the wrapper as reference. And I couldn't find a big enough image on the net. But the big issue still remains: Pooh in the front or the rear? Huggies mixes up the distribution of Tigger and Pooh ... I tells ya, it's a minefield out there!
Excellent tip from Sandgrounder, by the way. I kinda miss those fountain events when changing nappies ... aaaahhhhh, bonding ...

Oh, Lawd, this is the funniest post in a long time. I haven't had a small person in my house since the 80's so I'm with Longbyt, I cannot tell you which way to turn the Pooh.
However, I absolutely agree with a previous smart person. When it's time for the spousal unit to return, that is the time to pull the forward/backward pants off Junior and stick him in the bath. Then you get big hubby points for not only bathing the kid, you also get the opportunity to observe Mama as she rediapers the baby, thereby insuring your own diapering success in the future.
Good luck, Pops!

I agree, great way to start my day, thanks for the laughs! I can imagine I'll be doing much of the same type of worrying some day...but I do have a question, what does the Tigger peering out from the zipper look like? See, that would just confuse me because zippers on pants are in the front, so I would thing the zipper/tigger would be in the front? But from what I gather here, the zipper/tigger is on the back?

Whole character (tigger or pooh) on the front.
Zipper & character (tigger or pooh) on the back.
i.e. there are two different motifs - anyway, 22 yards will know what I mean.
