Emergency! [diaper/nappy help needed]

I'd really appreciate some help with a looming emergency. I am currently in sole charge of a small, sub-2-year-old male human (or a 2-year-old male sub-human). I have purchased a pack of Huggies Walkers nappies/diapers. Confusingly, half of them have a full figure Winnie the Pooh on one side, and Tigger peering over a drawing of a zipper on the other, while the other half have the characters reversed.

THERE IS NO INDICATION AS TO WHICH SIDE IS THE FRONT, AND WHICH THE REAR!!!

Does anyone have any idea whether the full-sized character should be at the front or the rear?! What would happen if I get it wrong? What are the relative merits of having Pooh at the rear (so to speak) versus Tigger occupying that position? Would there be lasting psychological issues if I get this wrong? And for my son?

I estimate I have less than two hours before peristalsis forces a decision one way or the other. Fellow EFers, my marriage, the mental health of a defenceless child, and my upholstery are DEPENDING ON YOU!!!!!

Please help!

Re: Emergency!

are they pull-ups or sticky-based nappies?
all-in-all, you'll know when you feck it up and have cleaning to do that it's the other way.

and shame on you for this appearing to be your first nappy.

Re: Emergency!

Put it in front of you and will notice that there is one side that is slightly taller than the other. That's the rear

Oi, not my first nappy at all! I went through thousands when I was a baby myself.

No, it's a pull-up nappy and it's my first pull-up. I am a dab hand at the usual sort but these modern newfangled pull-up thingies are a different kettle of fish ...

Hahaha, this wins Thread of the Day in my book!

Sorry, can't help you none except that the broader side should be for the bum? Never had a baby and hope I never will.

I have already. It was kind of pleasurable, but it didn't answer my question.

I would not worry about psychological issues; my little daughter hates them all- the nappies- whether I put them properly or not

Hey, you're right, Tigger peering over the zipper (or Winnie, in some cases) IS very slightly taller!

Thanks for helping. And now you've buggered up a perfectly good thread. What am I going to for the next hour and 47 minutes???

The side with the reversed characters is the back. Huggies Little Swimmers nappies have all the characters on the back reversed.

Re: Emergency!

What way round it goes is not so important as how to take it off again, especially if it contains a number 2. This is the crucial piece of info: the sides rip open! You do not have to pull them down again .

Re: Emergency!

Just wondering, does that one side taller than the other rule apply to men's underwear as well? Maybe I've been wearing my Calvins back to front all this time. There's no Tigger on them to help me out, either. Gotta be a marketing opportunity in there somewhere.

Now Little Swimmers I AM familiar with and yes, Pooh's bum goes on my little guy's bum. But on these pull-up nappies, the characters all face front! When I said they were reversed, I meant that in one case you have a full Pooh on one side and a peeping Tigger on the other, and in the other case, a full Tigger and a peeping Pooh.

Ah, so that's all clear now.

Re: Emergency!

I'm really impressed with the speed with which my fellow EFers responded to this genuine emergency. In future I will definitely post here, rather than trying to find the CH equivalent of 911/000/999 in the phone book.

As mentioned above, the baggier part of the nappies goes to the behind, because that's where a whole turd of solid matter has to be stored. The front section is based on the absorption of liquids, so it needn't be baggy. Undies for adults are not meant as storage space for liquids or disposable solids.

By the way, as you may have noticed, the test liquid they show in TV commercials always is blue, just like the one used in commercials trying to sell you panty liners, sanitary towels and the like. My kids' pee always was yellowish. Are those commercial producers color-blind?

My kid always produces blue nappies. There's a school of thought that says that it's due to the Curaçao that I give him to get him to go to sleep, but I don't think that's it at all.
