My doctor speaks Italian, German and English. His website is http://www.stacchi.ch/ He always takes the time it takes, which I appreciate.

Just FYI, depending on your health insurance, you may get a better deal with your insurance if you commit to going to one specific doctor or a group of doctors.

Also, the doctors at the Permanence at the main station all speak English, but there, you generally have to wait - sometimes for more than 1 hour.

You might be interested to know that Dental treatment is normally not covered by your krankenkasse and in CH the cost is high. I would suggest having a look in the German border towns...

And then again, wait for it I don't do either... I have found it cheaper to take a one week holiday to Lara Beach in Turkey and go to the local dentist there who is 1 very good, 2 very very modern and 3 it is so cheap the holiday is for nothing in comparison to CH... Last time I paid €120 for a full clean, a small root filling and gold filling replaced including X-Rays. BEat that...

Anyone know how much it costs for a doctor consultation in the Permanence clinic in Hauptbahnof Zurich?

I had to go to Permanence recently and it cost me 85 Francs, but that was just a short, 15-minute consultation without any lab work or anything. They wrote me a prescription, which I filled next door and which cost another, maybe 15 Francs.

I can highly recommend a dentist in basel.
He is very patient , professional and speaks !! 6 !! languages.
Also great for children.!!

How do you know if a company covers dental insurance? I didn't read anything about it in the contract, so does that mean they don't have it covered and we have to pay ourselves? What about orthodontists and getting braces? Sorry to go a bit off topic here.

Dental insurance is a separate policy & treatment is not covered under a normal health insurance policy.

Can I assume that all the dentists and doctors listed on the US Embassy website speak English? Specifically I'm looking for one in Bern. I'm hesitant to start a new thread. I need some fillings fixed... *ouchies*

I went to the medical practice on the top floor of SihlCity - they have family doctors/GPs and specialists there too. I just walked in and got an appointment for the next day. They spoke reasonable English.

Thanks a lot, finally I went to a very good one who one friend visited before. He had a great english and also he was a really good doctor. he solved the problem of my kids in one week!
