New to Morges - Looking for Kids' Activities in English

Hello,
We just moved to the Morges area with our two young boys, and we are looking for activities in English.
Does anyone know of an English speaking mothers and toddlers group in the Morges/Lausanne area?

Any other tips on how to find English speaking playmates for the children will be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you very much!

Re: New to Morges - Looking for Kids' Activities in English

Hi Yoko

Welcome to the area. My kids are a little past the toddler stage so hopefully others will be along with more suggestions soon, but in the meantime you could try Edukids in St Sulpice (village about 6km towards Lausanne from Morges).

http://www.edukids.ch/Home.php

They run a range of playgroups, music, coffee get-togethers, etc, attended by both English and French-speaking mums (their pre-school is bilingual).

Re: New to Morges - Looking for Kids' Activities in English

Just thought of another one, thanks to an email popping into my box: there's a Yahoo Group called 'Moms-in-Vaud' which meets up at least once a week for coffee and play in different places locally. You have to join Yahoo Groups if you haven't already, then sign up for membership of the Moms-in-Vaud group (and the 'Expat Moms in Switzerland' and 'Lausanne Kids' ones are interesting and active too).

Here's a link to the Moms-in-Vaud one: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/moms-in-vaud/. The meet-ups are more Rolle direction, but that's only 15 mins from Morges so might do for you.

Re: New to Morges - Looking for Kids' Activities in English

Hi Yoko

The following might be useful, my two year old son and I (and plenty of English speaking mums) attend on a regular basis

La Maisonnee is in Morges, opposite the Casino restaurant and the
Vallee de la Jeunesse is just before the Maladiere roundabout as you head into Ouchy so both are very quick from Morges.

http://www.espace-prevention.ch/oues...onn%C3%A9e.pdf

http://www.valleedelajeunesse.ch/

Both are free playgroups, the opening hours are on the websites. The ladies who run them usually speak good English and I have to say I've always found it easier to make English speaking friends at the Swiss run playgroups than I have anywhere else.

Personally I found the moms in vaud group tended to meet up towards Nyon/Coppet area so that didn't work for us. We've also been to Edukids a few times for a music group but I think my son was too young at the time. I believe they have a coffee morning every month though, which I keep meaning to go to!

Happy to meet up/answer any questions if you would like more info - just PM me :-)
