English Playgroups in ZUG area

We are a South African Family moving to Zug area in November after two years in Basel. We have two little ones, a boy (22 months) and a little girl (7weeks old) and would love to join some informal english playgroups (where moms and tots and babies hang out) in the Zug area, meet some other moms or just hang out and do playdates. We had a magic group in Basel (BCT) and hope to find the same sort of thing in Zug. Also need information on sending my little Boy to daycare maybe once or twice a week, any english daycare centres around? Still have to make a final decision on our apartment. Would Oberageri or Unterageri be a good area for kids in terms of playgrounds, walks, daycare?

Re: English Playgroups in ZUG area

Actually looking for something in the zug area where I can send my son to daycare either a couple of mornings, or once or twice a week so he can get rid of all his energy and I can spend some time with my newborn baby girl... He is currently going to Kids and Co (english and swiss german) in Basel twice a week, and it is great for his social developement and gives me a break. Thanks anyway!

Hello,
i would suggest that you visit Starbucks, Metalli centre ( close to the Bahnhof) in Zug mid morning or Baar Lattich swimming pool on a week day, preferably Wednesday early afternoon. In both you should find lots of english speaking mums with small kids who you could ask about playgroups. you might also like to try the local yahoo group.

Hi there, we have an English speaking nursery called Stepping Stones: http://www.steppingstones.ch/ss/index.php
Plus we have a playgroup organized by International Moms with kids
http://www.imkc.ch/Activities.html

Worth joining the Zug MOMs Facebook page to stay up to date with things going on
https://www.facebook.com/groups/61980518823/

There's also a yahoo group called Expats-in-Zug

There's plenty of bilingual nurseries in Zug: German/English, so I am sure you will find a good option. If any questions, just shout.

Hi

Can you provide more details of what type of playgroup you want to start? Is it for babies or toddlers?

thanks

Re: English Playgroups in ZUG area

Hi,

I am thinking of playgroups for toddlers but we can also try with meeting for moms with babies. It depends on the demand I suppose
What I want to do is regular meetings maybe once or twice a week for the start with a healthy snack for kids, coffee and tea for mom, 30 minutes free play, circle time with songs, games and all sorts of activities (singing, finger plays etc.) followed by simple art-craft. It can be held in my place. I live very close to Kolinplatz so location is very central. There might be a problem with prams but I will talk to my landlord and organize something.

Looking forward to hear from moms in Zug!
