I got this allergy test years ago and they didn't find any allergy but they found out I had a rhinitis non-allergic.

My present doctor didn't want to give my this test saying he doesn't trust them enough... That's why he passed directly on the blood test.
That is true, I had a skin test and I was apparently allergic to paint dilutant, the thing is in skin tests test for different allergens. On my blood test I was allergic to:
Dustmites ****
Cats ****
Dogs **
Not allergic to pollen or other usual stuff...so fo rme spring is the best

Welcome to the Seretide club! I've had Asthma since I was 3, you get used to it. Once you know what trigger's it ( like allergies or something) you take steps to avoid the trigger, or if it flares up with a cold then just take extra care then Never have needed a bracelet, but always carry a blue Bricanyl with me.
And Dairy increases Mucus, I have the same problem, any food with animal fat in it, all the yummy things like chocolate, icecream and cheese.
I am happy to finally know what I have. But I have to admit I'm a little bit in a denial mood right now....

If the test was wrong? I have a little cold, maybe the results went out like that because of it? Maybe he will tell me at my next appointment it's not that....

That kind of though...

Milk is not like smoking so let's not overreact. It is an important source of calcium, but I agree there are others, like spinach for instance.
It was not a question of overreacting. Just a statement. I said almost addicted. Actually we can almost become addicted to anything we enjoy.

Milk can be a source of calcium but not the only source. Actually we do not need milk at all. We have come to beleieve that we need milk. For some milk can cause more problems than it can help.

For me, the doctor prescribed the strongest does of Seretide to bring my breathing issues under control (I was seriously abusing my Ventolin after the arrival of our 3 pets who came a month later). After 2 weeks, my follow up treatment was a reduced dosage of 250mg 2x day. I was told if I could cope, I could reduce to once a day and then to see if I could wean myself off of it (all in 2 week intervals).

I would prefer not to be on medication at all, but it seems like one puff a day is necessary for me. Our bodies have different reactions over time. It is possible to become sensitized to your animals (like I lost mine after a period of separation) and maybe the asthma will resolve itself. Good luck!

Re: Asthma

I am curious to know if me having asthma give greater chance to my daughter to have it too? Considering the fact none of my parents have it?

Atopy (general term for allergy) has a genetic background. Your daughter is theory has a greater risk but it does not mean she will get it

Its a possibility.

Both of children had serious asthma back in Canada. As they grew older it got better. When I have a bad cold or flu it always goes to my lungs. My mother passed away last year frolm a lung problem.

I quit smoking 15 years ago for my children and for me.

I know that my problem is ever so slight.

I do know that the incidence of asthma is supposed ot be getting greater. It is proably due to pollution

Re: Asthma

I got the results and I have no allergies. This is good news.

I am now confused. I was hoping, in a way, to find out it was from allergies. I kind of think it makes it easier if it's from allergies because you know what makes you feel bad and you can try to avoid it.

But in this case, I feel like I can't do something about it.

Re: Asthma

Yes you can! and maybe it is not asthma? Maybe something new in your environment. I was tested for increased IgE (immunoglobin E) and increased eosinophiles (allergy blood white cells) and I had normal quantities of both but when they tested for specific antigens (cause allergic reaction) I was allergic to cats, dogs and dustmites. I do not know of course what tests you had done.
Bottomine: discuss these finding with your doctors.

Oh and another thing that can trigger asthma attacks are some types of food and ewww cockroaches!!!!!!

Good luck !
