my friends son attends a private school here in basel. they live in Allschwil, BL and the local community pays her chf2000 per year since her son doesnt attend the swiss public school.

does anyone know if there is any such arrangement in basel stadt?. if yes, how can one find out more about it?. is it also applicable to B or C permit holders(my friend is a swiss).

I think it depends on the age of your children and your family situation (that`s what was explained to us): if both parents work, then you can claim that part of the stay at the school is needed as daycare-which is not available at the local school and is a necessity if both of the parents want to work. Ask at your city council, it might be that it is canton based-- we live in Olten.

I am assuming that is 2000CHF in tax credits per year. But that probably won't even cover the monthly cost of a private school,.
