I am a single mom with a 2 year old girl in Zurich, and no family in the near radius, looking to meet other single parents (female or male), or really any interesting and fun people (parent or not), who can relate. Are there any of us out there? If so, where are you?

I have never made a post about this, because it felt a tad odd sharing a personal detail about myself on a forum. But I guess I can't really relate any longer to the mommies who spend their days strolling their Bugaboos and window-shopping on the Bahnhofstrasse while the hubbies work the bank job. Nothing wrong with that if that is your gig, just looking to meet others who I can better relate to and share the more comedic side of life with.

I was really worried there are no single mums in CH.

I am looking to move to Zurich in July 2011 with my 2 daughters, currently 5y & 8y. As a single working parent in UK we can just manage to get by, even afford 1 holidays a year. I do not have rich ex and I do not have any high proportion job in UK, im just Accounts Assistant, still qualifying for AAT. I would like to carry on in this field in SW. However, there is nothing holding me in UK anymore and is really cold here all year round. (just to point out, thats not the only reason for relocating)

I was wondering if there were any single parents in ZH and would like to hear about your experiences and how did you start in foreign country, how do you manage with working and childcare arrangements. Any advice and points will be appreciated.
