Hi,

I'm new to the forum. I am a 40 year old Frenchman who is going to move to Zurich.
I would like my 2 1/2 year old son to learn English rather than German, so i am looking for an English speaking nursery in Zurich.

The ones I have seen cost 2400 CHF a month, which seems a bit pricey!

Would you please have any ideas, any names to recommend?

The price of Krippes are based on the expenses a Krippe has which in turn is heavily based on regulations. Thus, all Krippes cost more or less the same, English or Swiss. The only major influence on price is location. The Krippes out in the country-side is cheaper than the once in the City due to slightly more leanient rules and cheaper room-cost.

There is variation in price. If you want all-day-care, though, it will be between 130-150chf per day. Some have minimum attendance requirements too...

I can recommend you look at two options where I know the management and staff:
www.happynest.ch - the lady who owns and run this one is on our forum. It's not a long-day-care although the care hours are pretty long.
Edited to add: I think you will find their fees much more reasonable...and it would suit a non-working parent who can take them at their convenience...

The other one to try is :
www.childrenfirst.ch - I believe they are the only english 100% licenced long day care in Zurich and I worked there last year and loved it!

If you are looking bilingual, then there are heaps of options...if you want Montessori bilingual English/German/French then I can also give you some suggestions - please PM me for that...
