Central Switzerland Family Website

Hello everyone. Discovered this website accidentaly the other day. My family and I have lived in Nidwalden for six years and love it. I have two young children and as an interest I have created a website of places we visit as a family. I would be interested in feedback from anyone who lives in the central Switzerland area about what you think of it. The website is www.fun4kidz.ch . I am still improving it and would be interested in any comments.

Re: Central CH Family Website

Excellent work, lots of content, bilingual as well. You should send the adress to travel sections of papers in the UK.

Excellent resource. Maybe it should be in Daily Life or Family Matters?

Will certainly use it when we venture into Central Switzerland.
Congratulations on a great site. For what it is worth, I would put the copyright symbol on each page.

I would say that if you find a proper designer to give the site a more "pro" aspect, you might able to take it further than a simple hobby.

Funny I was actually thinking the same the whole morning...actually I like the idea so much that I'm thinking about offering my help at a much reduced price or even for free in exchange for a banner ad

Let me know if you would be interested Nidwalden Brit. Of course I would have to find the time first, but I think it wouldn't take me long to turn your site into a nice web 2.0 style portal that pretty much runs itself if you find enough users that are willing to contribute by adding content. You would only have to do quality control of the entries. Once you've got enough visits you could approach all those toy and baby stuff online shops to make a buck in advertisement.

Great idea! Would like to add a couple of reviews, but the button doesn't seem to work (for me!). Is this a Mac/Safari problem?

Correct - introductions isn't a good place for a resource like that. I'll move it over to family matters. Maybe someone can add it onto the appropriate thread for kid's type resources?

Re: Central Switzerland Family Website

Firstly, apologies for setting this off in the INTRODUCTIONS section and thanks for moving me Mark. I think I feel much more comfortable and at home in the FAMILY MATTERS section.

Thanks for the positive feedback, I am glad it could be useful for some of you to find things to do on days out with your kiddies.

Mr Evolver, I will have a think about your kind offer to help me develop the site and will let you know.

I will have a look to see why the reviews section was not working for you Mr Crumbs (already mastering the customer support bit of this!).

Re: Central Switzerland Family Website

I like your site a lot, and I would offer a couple of comments if I may:

a) it's crying out for an interactive map that links the review to the static map at the top, so you can go from review(s) to map and vice versa.

b) If English is selected, do you only display reviews in English or both English and German ?

c) look closely at tripadvisor.com for further ideas on pictogram based ratings etc

Its looking good so far and has a great deal of potential and I wish you success.
