We are going to have a baby in January and trying to decide which hospital to choose from: Triemlispital, University hospital Zurich, or Bethanien hospital. Since I only have basic insurance, so likely will pick a public hospital. But it would be nice if my same doctor can deliver the baby for me. This means I will have to pay extra to stay in a private hospital and unsure it worths to pay so much for it. Any moms have given births in any one of these 3 hospitals and would like to share their experience? I still havent decided to go for normal birth or c-section. I had a traumatized experience for my 1st baby 2 yr ago, so still freaking out about the normal birth. Any info would really help me to make an informed decision.

Hope you had a better experience this time round. Which hospital did you go to in the end? I'm currently in the process of choosing. Triemli was recommended by most people.

My second baby was born in Triemlispital and I can recommed it.
My first girl was born by CC, but younger "with the powers of nature"
I have basic insurance. Staff was fully supportive (with birth and then taking care of baby), even if not every nurse speaks english (I don't speak german). I was supposed to be in 3-persons postnatal room, but because of many new moms I was in 2-persons room with bath, with no extra cost. And there is changing/bath room for your baby.
Food is ok, you have 2 meals to choose for lunch and supper.
A lot depends on the expectations, but all the time I was sure nothing bad is going to happen to us and felt ~ comfortably, if you can say that about hospital

i got my first delivery in university hospital Zurich.The service was good.Even before delivery they took gud care(xcept one midwife,she was so artificial)
After delivery they taught me how to bath baby and changin diaper etc.
Mostly every midwife are very nice to me.

i offen call them to help me to feed my baby,they helped me.they all r so nice.

i would suggest u to select the one nearby ur place.Tht would be more comfortable for ur family members who come to help u.

I just had my 4th baby last month and did my second homebirth with a midwife. I highly recommend midwives for a must less traumatic experience that I have ever had with my 1st two births in the hospital.
