| | | Cold Called by Chase Belgrave
Just got cold called at work by these guys. I hate this, no idea how they got the number, but since I moved internally only recently, I can only assume someone in my area or in HR passed my details on, as my phone number changed in the move.
Anyone had any experience with this lot? I already have my pension/3rd pillar stuff sorted, so politely got rid of them...
I generally use the rule that if people are coming to you about your money, they are probably in it for themselves more than for you!

Do you explicitly list your employer details on linkedin or xing?
Once I removed my current employer details from these sites, the calls I received dropped dramatically.

I don't think that Chase can get annoyed about me factually stating they called me at work. I haven't said anything bad about them, just I don't like getting cold called, and them coming to me instead of vice-versa makes me uncomfortable. They were pleasant enough on the phone, and although trying a relatively hard sell, eventually relented when they realised i'd already done what they were offering with a Swiss firm.
I was just asking for opinion on them in general, out of curiosity.

I simply refuse to answer any calls which come through the switchboard because the overwhelming majority tend to be head hunters, financial advisers, training companies or Micky Mouse Universities trying to enroll me on their MBAs |

Let's see how long this thread lasts until it gets zapped.
On this forum it's against the rules to name financial companies while speaking badly of them.

If you can back up problems experienced with a service provider, fair enough, but there are often times when a rant isn't always as transparent as it initially seemed. There are two sides to most stories, remember, and we will pull any thread where it's unclear who's zooming who. |

I have just been contacted by these guys as well.
Have any others members used them? Are they any good? Nothing on the internet for them that comes from an independent source.
Thanks

Hi Maheenbeg,
Geneal consensus / financial advice from the forum tends to be:
If someone is calling you about YOUR money, they probably haven't got your best interests at heart.
Also, did someone change the name of this thread, or did I get Serbia mixed up with a square in London??

Why not "counterstrike" and have some fun?
Next time they call and want to sell you a product, tell them you are from a rich family, have inherited 200m USD and don't beleive their products would suit your asset management needs. It'll be like throwing raw meet into a pool of sharks. Sit back, watch and have a laugh at the feeding frenzy | | The following 2 users would like to thank desperate for this useful post: | |

Thanks | | | | | There are very good at making money so run as fast as you can from them. I would rather be castrated than become a client.

Seriously, i'd rather lose 10% of my savings than castration, but that's just me. |

Chase Belgrave News Service | | | | | But you can still check out their job ads, e.g. this one for a "Senior Sales Advisor (IFA)" with a "winning mentality" and "exceptional sales experience". "No cold calling or cold sales is required as prospective client meetings will be booked for you." On the company website, they describe themselves as "Chase Belgrave independent financial advisers".

Be careful: by coincidence I have seen that a guy (one of the worst) with the same name as the director of Fahrenheit 911 who was an "advisor" at the beers moved to the chasers!!!
