Credit report in Switzerland

Hello All,
I cannot seem to get a credit card in Switzerland. I have lived in
5 Cantons, and I have a credit report( Betreibungsauszug ) from each of the Cantons where I have lived.

There is nothing on any of the reports that are negative. Additionally,
I have no debt in Switzerland whatsoever.

Is there a central credit agency that can give you a report for
all of Switzerland? If so, do you have a contact/weblink?

Re: Credit report in Switzerland

Have you written to the card providers to ask why you have been turned down ?
It might not be credit score.

I called the credit card provider and pretty much got the run around.
I was sent to pretty much a bunch of numbers that led me nowhere.
After quite a bit of frustration, I gave up.

A letter I have not written.

Re: Credit report in Switzerland

I had pretty much the same problem as you but in reverse (CH to US). The solution I found was to get an American Express card in Switzerland that I transferred to the US.
Then for some reason, it solved the situation and I managed to get other credit cards.

Re: Credit report in Switzerland

Is your own bank also refusing you a CC? Normally the bank you have your accounts with is the easiest to get CC with as they know all about your salary & spending history. Go in to your branch and talk to them in person.

Re: Credit report in Switzerland

When I requested a CC from my bank (PostFinance), it was conditioned for me to freeze 5000 CHF from my account. I refused the deal and went to UBS, they were losing a lot of customers at that time so they gave the CC without any problem.

Re: Credit report in Switzerland

Have you tried purchasing anything on credit e.g. at MediaMarkt or Interdiscount. Also Coop and Migros offer credit cards, maybe worth taking a chance...
