I know nothing about taxes... help.

I'm a 23 year old college student, and I'm looking to move to Switzerland within the next few years. To be honest, my parents have taken care of my taxes all of my life. I understand the idea behind them, but I'm a bit baffled as to the implementation in Switzerland.

The career that I am currently studying pays an average of 102-130,000 CHF. Assuming I earn 110,000CHF, what of that will actually go into my pocket, and what of that will go to the government?

Of the money taken out of my paycheck, where exactly does it all go? (In other words, what percentage is income tax, what percentage is property tax, etc...) I was doing some research, and the one figure I saw had 450,000CHF taxation of a 700,000CHF income.
That really shocked me, and is what causes me to write this absurdly basic post.

It all depends on where you go to live and whether you choose to be religious or not. The most you can pay anyway is 45% so around the 315'000 so 450K is way out. If you earn 110K it can vary from around 30K assuming you are single and catholic and choose to live in the highest taxation locations such as Geneva or Bern and 12,654 if you were not registered as religious and live in the lowest taxation location Bäch/Pfäffikon in canton Schwyz.

Thank you so much! I would not be considered religious (I am an Episcopalian, but my religion is personal and not something that requires a church), single, and I'm not entirely sure where I'd be living yet. It's still a ways away (like, 3 years). I'm just trying to figure out if it would be worth it to work there.

Given the numbers that you've mentioned, 11.5%-~28% would be all of my salary that would have to be paid? If so, that's definitely lower than I thought. I would clear 80,000/year minimum? Not bad.
