Quellensteur (Adliswil)

Small clarification from learned ppl.

My state: Non-EU, not christian, married, wife still not working, Ausweis B.

I'm working in Zurich city, in the beginning of my employment I used to stay in the city. My employer calculated my tax based on this.

But now I shifted to Gemeinde Adliswil, couple of months back.IMO, the tax should be calculated according to my gemeinde rules and slabs, and not to Zurich City's. Is there anyway to find out how much this taxation amounts to in my Gemeinde?

Googling, "Adliswil + Quellensteur" does not yield something easily. I hope to throw it here, so if someone also stays in same Gemeinde, he/she may have the link directly to such a document.

Thanks a lot in advance.
Bender!

And rightly so since the PAYE tariffs are cantonal.

As Shorrick says there is no such thing as Gemeinde Quellensteuer it is calculated according to published tables for each canton.

Just as an aside if you think that you will be taxed more because all the social contributions are included then you are partially correct. You will be taxed more if your company pays above the minimum in any category...

I am sorry, I did not get this. Example of these category is, different kinds of insurances etc?

I thought that the company has to see under the correct table, how much I earn per month, what is my religious belief (or commitment), my marital status, and kaboom .... they get % tax deductions for me!!

So if I get it correctly, for tax at source, what my salary slip on "Quellensteur" shows is only dependent on canton I stay and the gemeinde does not matter.

I was under the impression that, since my tax was calculated according to City Zurich tax table (for Ausländer Arbeitnehmer), there should be a Gemeinde Adliswil table which may have lower tax deductions, since I do not stay in the city. But seems I am mistaken.

Reconfirming, the document which I linked in my first post then is alright (i.e. it is applicable to me) and I should bury the hatchet? Well, I don't like being duped of my well earned money. Going by the process here, sometimes it is difficult to follow through the rules.

With Quellensteuer they levy a tax based on your salary and all contributions including pension, social contributions, etc. If you are in the 45+ bracket(ie pension 10 instead of 7%) or your company pays enhanced contributions this is dealt with as if it was income and taxed accordingly. You can thus end up paying a little more than if you were taxed accordingly.

Anyway the secret is to bury the hatchet...
