rrrright... and you don't think someone has thought of doing that before?

paying a CC bill with another is treated as a cash advance. usually attracts a 5% fee. how do you think banks get rich??
Yeah, but the banks missed a trick there back in the seventies and early eighties with that one. Everybody who had two cards did it. Shame they finally caught onto it.

Damn, I'm showing my age now

Re: What do you need a credit card for in Switzerland?

There are valid reasons to have a credit card int his country.

-booking, cars, hotels, flights. I still have my us credit card for when the chrage is in $. But occasionally travel is quoted in euros or chfs so i pay with my swiss card and avoid/reduce the transaction fees

-I get superpoints at the coop that I can end up using to get free food items.

-It's safer than carrying cash

-it seems more and more things are bought with a smartphone...apps for example need a credit card. I buy my train tickets over my sbb app. I could buy a voucher and add it into my account but the hassle for that is too great

was also possible recently. many cards had no fees. in the end they all brought in balance transfer fees to combat the abuse.
