QNUPS, QROPS and ... er.. EURBS

After QNUPS and QROPS, there's now a new acronym. Apparently...

EURBS
I get the BS part, but what does EUR stand for?

Re: QNUPS, QROPS and ... er.. EURBS

Yeah, transfer your pension to Malta! That bastion of sound financial regulation, recently downgraded by Moodys.

Anyone who has ever had the misfortune to visit Malta will know that they can't even resurface a road let alone be financially competent and regulated.
If you have seen the unchecked building that goes on you can imagine the corruption.

So again, only the greedy or feckless will be tempted by those tax-efficient savings.

You get the feeling that QROPS and now this EURBS is just another mis-selling scandal in the making.

What's even more worrying is that a search for EURBS brings up our favourite advisors as seemingly the only provider.

Malta, the boiler rooms' choice:

Investigators found £27.5m had been paid into five UK bank accounts, with about £14m then transferred to offshore banks in Malta, Lithuania and Spain.

my adviser has just told me I should consider a EURBS. Im busy doing some research into it.
Can anybody give me some informed feedback on the subject?........a few of the other posters on this thread needn't bother. I have no interest in discussing this with uninformed cynical hacks

It's such a new subject/product I doubt you'd find anyone on such a general forum as this, but maybe I'm just being cynical.

Take a look here for some additional research on your advisors and follow your nose.

The market for "accountants" from Cape Town offering "financial advice" to expats in Switzerland is already full. Sorry.

Re: QNUPS, QROPS and ... er.. EURBS

Brilliant !
Things must be getting desperate in the shady world of un-regulated, commision only, offshore financial scamming.

It comes to something when they are resorting to these tactics just to get a bite.

wtf???? talk about putting your head into a hornets nest! will some of you guys just relax please.

As for the miss marble trick of checking up on my profile and then jumping to conclusions!...........

I'm a British expat living in CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA. Now before you get all "but this a swiss forum" on me.......... in the name of researching EURBS, i thought (mistakenly perhaps) people in Switzerland might have some valid input!

So do you?!!?!?!?!?!?

Nope, do not have a fixed term savings plan...............(dont really know what you are talking about though!)......from your tone im taking it you are not a fan?

As for lack of info, yip I have deffinately found that. I have now resorted to actually writing to my pension company in germany to get their direct feedback.

I take it that you are a British Citizen residing in Cape Town. I could provide you with all the necessary information regarding QNUPS, QROPS and EURBS - European Union Retirement Benefit Scheme.

When does a beer website not look like a beer website? When it's a QROPS site that doesn't mention the beers but has the same contact address.
