I live in zurich and married to CH,I have a small income in UK, its under 5000 pound a year salary. I don't have to pay any tax in UK for this as these were amounts under the personal allowance (2009/2010 and 2010/11 tax years was £6475) no income tax was deducted .

As the amounts were under the so-called lower Earnings limited there was no need to disclose the amounts to the Inland Revenue on the annual return form-P35 and thus there were no P60s submitted to the Revenue.

My husband is doing the tax form for us for 2010, most of the forms are done apart from he does not know that how to put my income there. so I am looking for some helps here. does anyone is in the similar sitiation and know what is the right thing to do?

Just declare it - they will tell you if you have to pay tax on it or not.

There will be tax to be paid if it's declared, AVS as well.

You should really consult a personal tax accountant to be absolutely sure in your specific situation. Our accountant told us my UK income last year had to be included on our joint (married) tax return, and as its already fully taxed in the UK (as effectively yours is, it's just taxed at zero), there is no further Swiss tax to pay but it does count towards your total joint income which determines your Swiss tax bracket.

I think you have misunderstood, it will put you in a higher tax bracket here. Any tax paid in the UK (zero) will be deducted from your liability here.

Just be aware that the Swiss Tax Authorities have the legal powers to increase tax rates if residents with significant experience in the UK (as you have with a taxable income there) and good English language skills still get the name of the CHUFFIN' COUNTRY WRONG

Remember too that any property in the UK has to be declared too.

You do have to give documentation of all money.
I would assume if you have been paid xyz you must have some form of receipt, even check stubs etc.

A no alone is fine, in any case the UK tax year is different dates, so any official end of year 5th April is of no help.

Or just forget it...

Why tell them? Just leave the money in UK and spend it there.

No I didn't misunderstand - I'm not the OP, I paid loads of tax in the UK last year - as I said, my income counted towards working out our tax bracket for the year, even though i was only here for half of it, but it had already been taxed in the UK so my income was not taxed further as UK taxes are higher.

Again you should ask an accountant, but ours said that the Swiss tax authorities will accept any declaration of income without proof but any deductions have to be based on proof. As someone else said you must have some paperwork relating to your income, or else you were probably working illegally.
