Hello All ,
I really need advice , i did like one car and i want pay for it using UBS Visa card but the dealer has no machine where usually we use to pay .
The issue is i have not the total amount cash , if i want use ATM the ATM will not give me more than 1000 CHF monthly credit, but when i buy directly using the machine i can spend till 5000 CHF .
After i give him my old car , i need also to pay more 3000 CHF and i am trying to know is there any option ?

If you have the money in the bank to pay the credit card amount, then simply walk into the bank and ask for your money..with ID. Its your money. Ask for a discount on the car if your paying cash.

If, as you say, you can pay off the credit card within a few days of the purchase, just wait until the time of that cash inflow and go to purchase the car with that cash when you have it in hand.
The fees and cash advance rates for credit cards are sky-high; you should wait a few more days/weeks until you can pay cash upfront.

Otherwise go to your bank, or call them and tell them you had planned to buy the car with a credit card but it's probably not the best idea, can they give you CHF3000 credit/loan?

most car transactions are cash in hand. talk to your dealer, give him the 1000chf and pay of the rest of the next 2 months at a tiny extra charge. That will be your only option really

As others have indicated but not actually stated straight out, you can walk into a UBS branch, present your Visa card and make a cash withdrawal ("cash advance") up to the unused limit of your card (so if your card limit is CHF 5,000 and you have spent, say, CHF 1,500 on the card so far this month, then you can get CHF 3,500 in cash from the bank today).
But think twice or more. You'll be charged a fairly large one-off fee (3-5%, probably, IIRC) for taking the cash advance, plus a very high rate of interest on the cash advance portion of your debt from the day you take it (no interest-free period). If you plan to repay the cash advance in one week's time, that equates to an annual "interest" rate of maybe more than 200%.
The other suggestions listed above are better, in my view ...

Go to or call the BANK.

Won't you have the money next month to pay for the car?
Why not wait a week?

Let me say to you something i swear to you that the new car that i bought now is BMW V6 and i am indeed going to drive it from here outside europe for more than 5, 000 Km , so you can calculate how much will that cost ? so take your dog and walk far ..
By the way now i will not give my old car since i will do the leasing , so once i come back i will put that BMW in your garbage may be you can use it .
and for the serious gentlemen , the issue i am driving out Europe before i can get the rest of CHF , but to make the booking into the boat for me and the car i need to move right now asap to be on time ..
thanks for you now it sorted out

When you get back I suggest you have another think about the sort of reaction you showed in the previous post.
The very fact that you asked the original question gives the impression that you haven't a great deal of experience in such matters. I had the feeling when reading the various comments that folk were worried that you might be getting into something you would regret later. Most of us have made mistakes, perhaps ones which cost us a lot of money or a lot of headaches. The number of EF members who come seeking advice to get out of messes more or less of their own making is quite high. Without friends and family around to 'chew' ideas over with, it is all too easy to get carried away by a 'great deal' or a 'fantastic opportunity'. This post only reinforces the feeling.
I hope all went well and that your finances cover your needs but I suggest that in future you just ignore replies you don't agree with instead of possibly putting up the backs of members who might prove helpful in another situation.

Could that possibly be why used car dealers insist on cold hard cash in hand before they give you the key?

why not just steal a car?
I mean with your attitude and the fact that you're leaving Switzerland, it would fit perfectly.
If you steal the car, a BMW V6, you can also steal petrol all the way across your 5 000km journey to outside Switzerland.
Will the place you're going to have Internet or must we rely on the postcard? | |
