I've read that non-EC residents who intend to leave EC (European Community) countries for a minimum of 12 months can claim VAT refund.

Sorry if my question is dumb but does Switzerland still count as non-EC country? Will I be able to get VAT refund at the custom for goods that are purchased in the UK within the past three months?

And yes, Switzerland is not and probably never will be a member of the EU.

Any refund must be arranged at the point of purchase be completing a form that is deposited at your port of exit in the UK...
