The scope you have provided is so broad that it is unlikely anyone can provide a useful answer.

You need to provide some details like whether you will be employed, contracting.

Generally any income costs you have outside the country are not able to be used against your swiss income however they can decrease your overall amount. You will also need to declare global assets eg bank, property, shares etc

Provide a bit more information and I am sure you will get a flood of answers

No employment within the country, part time contract in Europe providing an income externally, along with the investment income having declared the necessary asset requirement. Im interested in knowing whether its possible to claim travel/vehicle and accomodation costs for the investment guidance i provide against the income. Thank you once again.

Just save all your receipts and take them with you to your accountant in February 2012, when you can enter your tax claim for 2011.

The most common deductibles are listed in the following link which was given to me by a friend. However it is in german ! Can someone help with the translation please? I could do it but you’d have to wait a week or so as I am really busy at work, sorry .

Why don't you just use google translate? Paste in the URL and voila!
