Paying tax without business in Switzerland

Hello all,

I have a bit of a complicated tax situation. I came to Zurich around 2 years ago for a temporary job that lasted 6 months.

After my job was finished I started an only business, selling software online and all my customers are from outside switzerland. All my money I made was coming to my accounts outside switzerland.

I want to declare my taxes but I have no idea how to start filling for my taxes and I never did that since I came. I also wanted to open a GmBH because my business is starting to be successful so is that a good idea or its better to stay self employed like that?

I do hold a B Permit and an EU passport.

Any advices regarding my situation or do you recommend a good tax advisor in the Zurich area to help me with my situation

Cheers,

-Hosam

Re: Paying tax without business in Switzerland

You just need an accountant to sort things out for you - rather than a tax advisor. There are advantages to having a GmbH (limited liability for one - should someone want to sue for your software malfunctioning and costing them money), but it is relatively expensive to set up.

You do need to register as self-employed as soon as possible.

Re: Paying tax without business in Switzerland

I think in my case a GmBH is much better for me to start doing business in Switzerland. Do I have to register myself as self employed now then open the company or I can directly open the company?

You need to talk to an accountant about that.
