Post Finance seems to be a very good solution, but they are not interested since i'm not a CH resident. At least, that 's what they told me via an email.

Post finance will open accounts to non residents, you should try online.

Yep, but same time they lost "warranty of the state"

before you where 100% covered.
and they charge 7.- per month if you have less then 7000 (or is it 8000) on your account. But in general, "thumbs up"

@Caribeangeorge, when did the Post lose the Warranty of the state? I thought they had an implicit warranty of all depositis (except funds).

There is no such thing a fee-free bank account in Switzerland. I bank with UBS and really impressed. All my mail and correspondence is in English and can easily go into my local branches and talk in English. They charge 50CHF for a debit card and 10CHF a month if you do not have more than 20,000CHF in your account.

I bank with their NZ arm. :-) No fees, and internet banking which is about 15 years ahead of anything I've seen here in Switzerland...

I'd say the same about any Australasian bank. I'm still amazed at how bad online banking is here, and how complex and cumbersome the security is. And how my bank manager will give me all my account information over the phone without running through any form of identity checking. But that's a story for another thread.

Credit Suisse are the same... I was using internet banking in the late 90s, and it was better than it is here now!

I can only compare the online banking of HSBC in the UK and PostFinance here in CH, but the postfinance site is far better.

I suggest any cantonal bank like BCG or BCV.
