How to buy stocks from UBS

Hi

I am totally a newbie in stocks. I am starting to read but I would like to know which with online broker I should sign up. Is E-trade any good?

I have an account with UBS and i noticed they have something called Quotes. I guess it should be possible to buy/sell stocks using that.

Anyone tried buying stocks using his UBS bank account?

Thanks and have an awesome day

There prices are high, Swiss Post less however a UK or US online broker is far cheaper.

Re: How to buy stocks from UBS

e-trade seems closed right now for new accounts.

Anyone recommends swissQuote?About UBS do I have to call my client advisor so they enable me to buy shares from UBS Quotes or I should have that by default?

I logged in but I can't see the buy/sell option. Just using the virtual portfolio

thanks

Call your client advisor and ask them how it works

You need to set up a special account with UBS to purchase shares. Just contact your branch and they will provide the paperwork you need to fill out. It takes about 1 - 2 days to process so if you want to buy quickly have this set up first. I find UBS share buying excellent.

Are you a US citizen or otherwise who is required to file taxes in the US?

Re: How to buy stocks from UBS

If you call your client advisor he will arrange a meeting with you, take you through the risk warning and open your account, usually works straight away,
And agreed, UBS is a good buy at the moment.
