| | | What is - Les déductions sociales
I was looking into Getax2011 software. Just for my own educational purposes, since I think the tax declaration does not realy changes from one year to another. And I saw - Les déductions sociales - which amounts for single person 82000CHF. Can someone explain me what is this? Is this the amount which could be deducted from the salary? Tah is strange bit

I think you need to provide a bit more context. Unless you are making an enormous salary there is no way 82,000CHF are being deducted from your salary. And if you are making that kind of money, you should get a tax expert. LOL.
Again, with out knowing more of the context, the 82KCHF is probably the taxable income after the standard deductions.

I am not making enormous salary. As I said, just filled out getax2011, put my anual salary, some numbers - AVS, medical insurance etc. At some moment, when i pressed "next", in a table appeared the Les déductions sociales - 82000CHF. And I cannot change the number. It is greyed out. Nex year I will be filing Swiss tax declaration first time and I am trying to educate myself

Do you go to another page? How much is your salary?

Le montant des déductions et leurs modalités varient d’un canton à l’autre | | | | | That is what I found about this term in some swiss tax related pages. I am just surprised by my self and interesting |

My salary is not realy relevant, but I put several different numbers in it, less or more than that number. When I put less, I got base tax 25CHF, and in any other boxes just zeros.

I can't see how your deductions could be 82,000K. I just did the calculator myself and didn't get the page you got.
On a simple calculation of taxable income of say 100,000K I got tax liability listed as :
Total Montant
Total impôts cantonaux et communaux (ICC) 12'776.15
Total impôt fédéral direct (IFD) 1'562.00
Total de l'impôt 14'338.15
Nothing more. I didn't even get the page with deductions sociales.

Taxable income is not the same as your salary. It's your salary minus deductions.

OK. Never mind. I just found out what it is.
The 82,200 is the deduction you can take on your fortune. If you have under 82,200 in total wealth you pay no wealth tax. If you have over 82,200 in wealth/fortune you pay tax on what is over that amount. So, I'm guessing you put your salary in the fortune/wealth box. So that makes sense that you would get a wealth tax liability of 25CHF if you put your salary in that box.
ETA: Haha. Seems our posts crossed! Yes. It's the deduction on your wealth.

When I put more than that number, I did not get that as well. Just curiosity what it was. In some countries there is minimal taxable amount, may be in Switzerland as well? But it seems to me to be bit high

I did the simulation online. https://ge.ch/afcaelp1dmapublic/2011...terviewID=form
The minimum amount you make to have to pay taxes on salary is something like 20K. (Can't remember exactly)

No I am not doing online simulation. I do the official getax2011 software, downloaded from tax office web site.

I was doing it online so didn't see the same page as you. Anyway, now you know, if you have a fortune of under 82,200 you don't pay tax on your it. Fortune tax is not so high anyway.

I am just educating myself, and seems to me doing something wrong. Changing the number under - revenue - from 50000 to 120000 gives me same stupid result - base tax 25CHF and any other 0

So you put random numbers on a tax declaration and expect us to figure them out?

Why are you putting in random numbers?? Just put in your salary. The online one seems to be working just fine as you see from my example way up above. Try that one.
