| | | SBB VISA CARD (HALF FARE) and their tricks to get extra money
Hi,
I only wanted to say here with a couple of examples how these guys try to get extra money from you:
- When paying with the card I took the sbb card by error and used the pin from other card. It wasn't accepted but...... A couple of days later without asking it, I receive a letter with the pin and 10 CHF extra in the bill.
- After coming back from holidays, I see a letter with the bills from the card, but I sent the money 2 days later than the last day possible because of the holidays (weekend in the middle and I couldn't pay on Saturday). Result: extra charge in the next bill... but it's interesting that the charge counts from the time they sent the letter (fast a whole month).
I hate the banks and I had to say it.
Greetings |

This is a standard that has existed in many countries for a long time. Pay your bill on time and problem goes away!!

I always pay ON TIME! | | | | | Well, shucks officer, I was only speeding because I was late!
If you're going to be on holiday so long that paying your bills on time becomes impossible (keeping in mind that the bill would have arrived a day or two after it was sent) then it's your responsibility to find an arrangement. You didn't pay on time, you got charged interest. That's the way the system works - they provided you the service of extending the duration of your credit while you were away and charged you for it.
Try automatic direct debit payment (LSV) if you have difficulties with the concept.

I paid a credit card bill late once because I was on vacation. I tried paying it from where I was, but some security aspect (firewall ?) prevented me from doing so. When I returned home, I paid the bill and contacted the credit card company, explaining what had happened. They reversed the late charge.
Of course, this was in the US. Would a bank in Switzerland be that generous?

With UBS you can decide when you want the payment to be way in advance

Greetings | | | | | You have difficultly chosing between 2 credit cards and this is the fault of somebody else ?
You don't pay yopur bills on time them bitch about being charged extra ? Credit cards have ALWAYS worked this way, pay up 100% on time and there is no interest, pay a part of the bill or be late by one day and pay interest.
They really do try and keep it as simple as possible
Maybe you should read the instruction book that came with your cards ! | | The following 4 users would like to thank Today only for this useful post: | | | This user groans at Today only for this post: | |

I always pay ON TIME! | | | | | Definitely frustrating. Just be glad it wasn't your rent or a mortgage that was late. Hope you had a good holiday though. =)

when I read the title i was expecting a complaint like this:
one trick of the half fare card is that it implies that one pays half the price for a fare. but in reality one pays like 5.80 instead of 8.40 for a ticket (over half price).
but this seems to be off topic right now?
anyways if this should also be the case, dont stress too much. for 150.- a year for the card it is a bargain. even if not quite paying half the price

You can go to www.myonlineservices.ch and see the invoice online several days before you will receive it in the mail. This can be useful if you know that you will be on holidays. They also email you as soon as the new invoice is available online.
You can also click on the Service tab, where you can download the Direct Debit (LSV) form to give to your bank, allowing BonusCard to automatically withdraw the full amount of the bill from your bank account every month.

Is for you normal to have to pay 10CHF for entering your PIN wrongly? I give the 10 CHF better to someone on the street, who doesn't have to eat, like I sometimes do!

Now, whether that should cost 10 Franks or less is another matter. |

But in all honesty I find the bank/credit card charges here in Switzerland to be very reasonable. OK they charge for incidentals such as this but they are very reasonable on other items such as annual fees. In particular they are the most reasonable I have found anywhere for sending/receiving money electronically. And most of all they are reliable.

Come on, guys, everyone knows that Swiss companies send their bills so late that you only have 7days left to pay the bill while the payment period is 14 days. Pisses me off every time.
