Working for a company in Denmark - Living in Switzerland

Hi all,

I am a 28 year old Dane planning to move to Switzerland within a couple of months, but in the future continue to work for my current Danish employer in Demark. The employer does not have an office in Switzerland, but I plan to work 2 days a week at the office in Copenhagen and the rest of the time from my home address preferably in Zug. I need initial input on how to set this up in the best possible way. I will need to contact a local lawyer/accountant in Switzerland in the near future, but would like some initial input from what seems to very helpful people on this forum ;-)

My income is expected to be approx: CHF 200.000 / year, and due to double taxation treaties with DK and CH, I will be taxed in Denmark for the time spent in the office in DK. However, the interesting part for me is how to handle the CH tax side. By going about it the direct way I will have to pay:

7,8% AHV
1,4% IV
0,3% EO
2% ALV
BVG?
and then normal tax....

What about BVG? Is there any tax advantages for me to pay this and use it as an alternative to saving money in an account myself? Can you provide me with any link to a page that tells me more about bvg and how much I have to pay? Is the percentage for my entire income? Can I take money out of the BVG plan later if I want to (if I leave CH)? What is the tax penalty if I do so?

Is it better for me to set up a GMBH in CH that will bill the Danish company and therefore hire me as a consultant?

Hope you can provide me with some input on the above... Thanks!

/Lars

I hope I don't come across as rude, but with an expected salary of 200kCHF, not only can you afford a tax consultant but also it would make financial sense for you to consult a tax advisor in order to optimise your liability.

Dear Mr. Gekko,

You need a business coach who can accompany you and help you optimize the entrepreneurial, taxation, social-security, legal and regulatory aspects. A comprehensive answer to this complex cannot be squeezed into a few lines on this forum....
