Zurich Tax Form

Hello,

I just received a tax form for the canton of Zurich for 2013. I have a permit B, so i'm taxed at the source.

I'm trying to understand why I received this form and why I received it so late. From what I also understood, i shouldn't have to do this if I do not make over the 120K limit for the year

I started working later in the year last year, so I wouldn't be over the limit.

I suppose I should fill it out, but what are the risks now, if this is filled out late? It should be returned by the end of March.

Thanks!

Re: Zurich Tax Form

The 120k limit is pro-rated. So, for example, if you worked for 5 months and earned over 50k then you will need to fill out a tax return.

The only exception to this is if you are claiming to be an international commuter with (at least) fortnightly returns to another country.

If they've only just sent it to you then they should have snet a letter giving you a diffreent deadline to complete it. If they didn't I'd suggest phoning or emailing them to ask what the correct deadline is and keeping the envelope with the postmark as proof of when you received it.

Hi
have a look at this page http://www.steueramt.zh.ch/internet/...kblaetter.html
scroll down to
Infoblatt für im Kanton Zürich quellensteuerpflichtige Personen

and chose the "Infoblatt" for your preferred language. I hope this helps.

Regards

Andy

Re: Zurich Tax Form

Sorry to bump up this old thread....but I have a related question.

Why does the tax form specifically ask if someone has a social security number? Specifically it asks this if you have US securities?
