Online transfer from PostFinance (CHF) to Natwest (GBP)

Hello!

Could some one please provide me with any information concerning the transfer of money from a swiss bank account (in my case Post Finance) to an english one (in my case Natwest); and so quite simply CHF to GBP. Is there a charge?

I have a fair bit more money in my swiss account as opposed to my english account from living and working here and i need to book some flights home soon- however i am aware that you cant book flights/use PostFinance cards online much.

Thank you!

I use transferwise.com for any transfers...takes 2-3 days in total but you get a very good rate with low charges

- It costs a few francs. I think it's 2 per transaction. If no-one else replies I'll come back and edit this next time I log in.

- You can use Postfinance a fair amount online - if you book your flights with Swiss, for example, using your debit card.

edit - yes, 2 francs

Re: Online transfer from PostFinance (CHF) to Natwest (GBP)

had to transfer money to a Euro acct and wanted to use transferwise but was surprised by the delay it takes for money to transfer so I used PostFinance. The funds were sent same day with a rate just 0.01 above market asking price. Fees were negligeable at just 5chf.

I probably could have saved a bit with transferwise had they taken the funds immediately at todays rate but the savings are way overstated when comparing to Post Finance as Post Finance charges nearly no fees (just 5 chf). I was impressed with the rate that Post Finance used for my transfer.

Sounds too good to be true..........what do you mean by "market asking price"? Forex rate by any chance?
