Ways of tax return, do they conflict each other

Dear all,

It was my first time to do tax return for 2014. (I'm very bad in German)
I'm in Zurich

With the help of friends, I use the code on the form to establish a profile online.
However some days after, I went to the tax office and ask about how to fill, they tell me it can be filled in a much simpler way. Therefore I filled the paper form and sent with all materials.

Today I log to the online tax return website and find that my online tax return profile is still not complete (read "Aktueller Stand in Bearbeitung"). I'm now quite worried about the situation.

The question is:
If I start declaring tax online, is that a must to finish the online profile? Will my paper tax form be accepted then? (Aktueller Stand in Bearbeitung makes me nervous)

Please help me!
Thank you!

No. You do not have to finish the online version. At least for Vaud the authorities won't see it until you hit the submit button.

Thank you very much miniMia!
Now I'm relieved
Since my tax situation is very simple, the tax officer encouraged me just fill a bit entries of the form then send it by post.
So when my materials are proceeded, will "Aktueller Stand in Bearbeitung" be changed online?

Didn't know you could submit a tax return online. Always thought you had to hand in or post a printed version to your local tax office. I'm using a PC program to fill in the return but you still have to print it at the end. So not really an online submission.

If you haven't already done so, you can extend the deadline for submitting your tax form until 30.09.2015 by a simple on-line process, so at least you are not under time pressure:

Thank you!
I have submitted the paper form by post, but the online form I haven't finished. This is considered as "submitted", right?
Thank you for the info of submitting extension!

my friend told me that she can submit online, but the proof materials still need to be delivered by post.
