Swiss Insurance - Assura

Could anyone briefly explain to me how this works, and what it actually covers? seems like a right scam as nearly every visit to the docs ive had hidden charges crop up. i pay around 350 per month

thanks, unsure dude new to swaziland

Re: Swiss Insurance - Assura

Some questions - what's your deductible/franchise - probably a number between 300 and 2500.
What insurance model do you have? Hmo, gp, telmed or classic?
Do you have just the compulsory insurance or do you have supplimental plans (private room in hospital, alternative medicine, etc).

Basically, though, you visit the doc, pay the bill and send it to your insurance. Once you've paid the deductible, you are responsible for 10% of the next chf 7000 incurred (the 10% is true for most things). As far as coverage, it's fairly extensive. Most acute and chronic conditions are covered.

Re: Swiss Insurance - Assura

As I understand, you only start sending the bills to Assura once the total amount you incurred exceed your deductible. You are responsible to keep all the bills in the meantime as I understand. Maybe someone else here can confirm it?

Note that the others have described how it works in Switzerland. The best, for you, is to contact Assura's office in Swaziland to check how it works there
