vass has no particular reputation at present
multiple account holders that include non-residents

Is such a thing possible in any Swiss bank?

I am currently living and working in Switzerland (B permit if it matters). Is it possible to open an account in any bank and put myself AND a person from my home country as account holders? Both account holders should have the same rights over the account (access to e-banking, able to withdraw cash etc...)

Are there any disadvantages in doing so?

Thanks!

Re: multiple account holders that include non-residents

You'd have to ask the bank, it will be their policy that decides it.

I can't think of any disadvantages, except that the costs of using the Swiss account to do anything abroad would be horrible. It's hard to see the point for a partner who has banking needs in your home country.

It would be more cost effective to do an FX transfer via something like xe.com on a regular basis.

For visits - you can get a joint credit card, not sure how to do the cash part although surely just withdraw as needed.

Normally a POA on the account is all that is needed, the only downside is the other person can run off with your money as many husbands / wives have found out.
