Debit Card

Hello Everybody, I am visiting Bern in a clinical attachment for 3 months on a Schengen C visa, I want to make some internet flight purchases and my previous debit card has expired, so I wonder if there are prepaid Internet Debit cards sold in Switzerland for someone like me?

Re: Debit Card

Moneyland.ch has a write-up on prepaid debit cards. As mentioned in the article, charges vary widely and some require a bank account while others do not:

Re: Debit Card

Thanks MennoFloyd, I read the article, it kind of sheds light on the types, but not where to get them? all I need is a card to make one internet purchase that can be sold to a visitor or someone with a C visa and no bank accounts..any idea which bank offers this?

Re: Debit Card

I looked at the forms for three prepaid cards from the article:
Valora ok.- Prepaid MasterCard
Yuna Card
Cornèrcard
and all require proof of residence in Switzerland (Swiss citizenship, or Swiss residence permits: B, C, L, G). This does not look promising for you on a Schengen C.
