Pillar II distribution upon departure: Impact on CH tax return?

Here's one that I haven't seen addressed.... I'm a US person who departed CH in June 2014. My pillar II was cashed out about 3 weeks before my departure. A withholding was applied.

I still need to file my 2014 CH/VD tax return (yes, it's very late). Does the cash-out of the pillar II have any impact on my CH return?

Yes, you need to indicate the amount of your early withdrawal of your pillar 2 funds (there's a section on the tax return form).

How did you get a payout before leaving, unless you became self employed?

It will need to be put on your final tax return, it will be taxed at the rate of the canton you lived in rather the canton the pension was held in so the withholding tax may not cover the full liability.
