Ct. Zurich has this on a webpage for deductions (Abzüge):
"Können die Kosten für die Benützung eines privaten Arbeitszimmers (zu Hause) abgezogen werden?

Ein Arbeitszimmerabzug kann nur dann gewährt werden, wenn regelmässig ein wesentlicher Teil der beruflichen Arbeit zu Hause erledigt werden muss, weil der Arbeitgeber keinen geeigneten Arbeitsplatz zur Verfügung stellt und der Steuerpflichtige in seiner Privatwohnung über einen besonderen Raum verfügt, der zur Hauptsache beruflichen und nicht privaten Zwecken dient.
Wer nur aus Gründen der persönlichen Annehmlichkeit Arbeiten zu Hause verrichtet, obwohl ein Arbeitsplatz vom Arbeitgeber zur Verfügung steht, kann keinen Abzug geltend machen. Wird ein Abzug für ein Arbeitszimmer geltend gemacht, sind die entsprechenden Beweismittel der Steuererklärung beizulegen (Bestätigung des Arbeitgebers, etc.). Die Kosten für die Benützung eines privaten Arbeitzimmers sind in der Pauschale für die übrigen Berufsauslagen enthalten."
