2 emails and still not sorted. Will call them later today (assuming they are open on Saturday).
Again consistent.

Despite several emails, nothing happened (sad, but true) however a phone call to the Irish number sorted everything out.

Note the Irish number, not the English one.

Lines are apparently closed until tomorrow. So annoying.

Re: Currencyfair long deposit delays

didn't find the time to call, instead had a chat via FB and asked the guy to look at it. it has transferred through now. took 6 days in total. now i still have to exchange and transfer out.

this is just the 'test' transaction too. will have to repeat assuming all goes well with this one.

Re: Currencyfair long deposit delays

i spoke too soon, after the long delay transferring in, the exchange to dollars was made quickly, but the transfer out is now 'in processing'. fingers-crossed it doesn't take as long...

Re: Currencyfair long deposit delays

I am never using these guys again.

A week ago I made my third transfer since the bank account change and it will be my last. 1 week on not only is there no sign of it, but CurrencyFair have emailed me a "transaction reminder"... nice.

So for me it's 1 week or more per transfer

Yes, I'm wondering whether to set-up a transferwise account or use Schwab/Swissquote where I already have accounts.

Hi,
In my case, I made the bank transfer yesterday and the amount has been credited into my CF funds today.
I have UBS just in case

Re: Currencyfair long deposit delays

Absolutely not impressed with Currencyfair now.......deposit normally is 1 day (I'm not with UBS), and now 3 or 4 days and counting. They said will take another couple of days to sort out. Not acceptable....will look at alternatives.

Re: Currencyfair long deposit delays

CF said it takes 3-4 days for their Swiss accounts to be credited. In my case anyway. It states this on their page too.

Once the money has been deposited in the Swiss account, the conversion between CHF to GBP takes 1-2 days depending on Fast Pay availability ok UK accounts.

I dont have a problem with trust here but when I did transfer a large amount I was worried about getting a worse rate than advertised in case it went up (due to the CHF/GBP rate fluctuation).

I did get the money after 5 working days at the mid market rate, didn't get charged on the UK side (6 pounds normally) and the rate of transfer was really cheap. Overall I was happy with the service.

Just to add, if you are transferring with the intention of getting the best rate, youre better off using the CF market or CF quotes once the funds have been deposited in your account. This will ensure you will either get the rate advertised at the time of exchange or if it changes +3% they will automatically cancel the transaction.

It never used to take even that long! Today is day 9 for me and still no sign. I emailed screenshots of my CS online banking screen yesterday at their request. The quality of CF service has plummeted, for me at least. All of my reference numbers and account details check out. I guess 2k is just noise to them and they prioritise tracing the larger deposit amount. However much "EarthPort" is saving them it surely can't be worth it. Earthport service to CF must be highly manual, and basically rubbish!

Did you quote the booking reference number when making the transfer in DirectNet? They enforce this needs to be done for Swiss transfers, its the long reference number beginning with 3 something? This would help them track your payment quicker.

Re: Currencyfair long deposit delays

Hi,

Yes of course :-)

I got a "He must be a massive idiot" email from Currencyfair yesterday pretty much saying the same. At which point, mainly due to irritation by me, we were able to verify that I have used the correct long reference number beginning with 3 on each of my 3 transfers since they changed their accounts (and reference number)

What is DirectNet sorry? Is this the domestic payment engine for CS?

Thanks

OK,

In that case Ive heard it can take up to 10 days for some people. Others even 30!

I hope they can resolve your issue soon

DirectNet is the online platform for CS banking, yes.

Re: Currencyfair long deposit delays

A transfer from my UK account to their UK account took nine days (arrived today), and I did correctly use the reference number as instructed. Their customer services were very good but nine days is not acceptable for me. I'll try once more before trying another service.

Indeed. The CHF has weakened 2% during my 9 day "missing money" period. I just got off the phone with them again. And they have done...........Nothing.
