Re: Currencyfair long deposit delays

I transfered GBP out, was quick, i think they use the FASTER payments for uk banks. However I think the spreads are not very good.

Re: Currencyfair long deposit delays

I just sent some USD to their Bank in Ireland, I did not bother with any correspondent bank info. My deposit arrived was cleared within 2 business days.

I have converted to both & Euro I will update how long it takes to receive funds.

This thread seems to have gone quiet. Does that mean that CurrencyFair are back to service as usual? Or is it just that everyone gave up on them?

Re: Currencyfair long deposit delays

I recently deposited some CHF into currency fair and it took only a couple of days, instead of the 5 days earlier in the year.

For me it is still 2 nights to transfer in and 2 to transfer out. (instead of overnight as it was before)

Exactly the same for me (for transfers in - transfers out in the non-CHF currencies I need has not changed). CF has also changed its interface which, IMHO, doesn't give as clear an indication of market movements. Still using it though given the ability to hold funds and (relatively) easily set preferred exchange rates.

Re: Currencyfair long deposit delays

I gave up trying to get their transfers to my US account to work and now just transfer it to PF USD account and then out from there.

Unfortunately, this adds costs and delays, but at least I know it will get there...

Re: Currencyfair long deposit delays

I used it a month or so ago and didn't notice any issues or undue delays. Will continue to use sporadically as needed it works perfectly for my needs.

Re: Currencyfair long deposit delays

I used them only last week and it went extremely smoothly and reasonably quick.

Monday Nov 7th
Moved CHF to Currency Fair

Tuesday Nov 8th
Funds arrived in Currency Fair.
Converted to USD and initiated transfer to US account

Sunday Nov 13th
Person confirmed they had received the funds however it may have arrived sooner, as they only told me when I asked.

Re: Currencyfair long deposit delays

Things are better, but it is a long way from where it used to be. It was entirely feasible before to have the funds sent in, exchanged and transferred out in under 24 hours. Now it takes 24 hours just to get the funds in.

I think it is still one of the best ways to move CHF to GBP, but, as soon as Revolut adds CHF as a top up currency, I think it will be the end of CurrencyFair for me.

Re: Currencyfair long deposit delays

Used the service again last week. Agreed that it has gotten better lately but still behind in the its hay days.

I remember transferring in at 9 AM, money arriving at 11 AM, make the exchange and initiate transfer out by noon. The speed helped to take advantage of the volatility in the market.

Just processed. Entered Sunday night and got the email just now. Less than 40 hours, a lot better than before, I'm happy with that.

Re: Currencyfair long deposit delays

The problem I have, is that my bank, UBS, always want to call me to confirm the deposit to currencyfair despite me going through their 32 point security log-in system.

I'm also with UBS and do not receive such phone calls, apart from when I moved 50K ... not sure what the threshold is for triggering such calls/checks.

Is this for the full end to end process, ie funds leaving one account until they arrive to the destination account? Or is it just for the FX Part inside CurrencyFair?
