Could somebody confirm I am right(tax question)?

I am taxed at source, and I am married with one child(my wife and my kid is currently not in CH). Am I right that I should be in B1 category?

The HR told me that I should prove that my wife is not working. Is that true? I am just not sure about our HR as the girl told me C category is lower than B category but thats not true.

and currently I am A0 .

Did you sort this one out?

(I'm on my way to Zürich, and will be leaving my two kids back home for at least a year. Given that I'll be paying support for the kids, will I end up in A0 or A2? Does anyone know?)

I'm not sure about the tax at source if your dependents and wife isn't in Switzerland. I think I saw somewhere here on the forum that you then are considered "Single". What you definitely should get though is "Kinderzulage" for your two children. Make sure they don't miss that.

I am in B1. I had to present some papers regarding I am married and the birth certificate of my son, and a paper from my home country's authority that my wife is not working. BUt it was out of question whether they are here in Switzerland or not.

Re: Could somebody confirm I am right(tax question)?

I had this issue come up recently. I have a B permit as well and my company was taxing me at source as if I was single even though I am married. The tax guy at work told us that he had no choice and that the tax authorities forced him to do it this way and there was nothing I could do about it. He isn't the most competent person, so I looked into it further myself. In the end my husband had to go to the RAV (Regionale Arbeitsvermittlung=regional employment office) to get a confirmation that he is a "Hausmann" and doesn't get any "unemployment support/money". My work then sent this confirmation letter on to the tax authorities and my status should be changed from A0 (single) to B0 (married). As a note, my husband does live in Switzerland but I don't know if that makes a difference.

Re: Could somebody confirm I am right(tax question)?

I have a similar issue I guess. I am being taxed as B0 while I have 2 children. My wife and children based in my home country are being supported by me financially. How do I get the status changed from B0 to B2? What document they would need from my home base. Thanks.
