Credit card Statements online

Hi everyone.
I own a mastercard from swisscard.
It is unbelievable that swisscard does not offer any system to check your credit card balance in real time or statement history from any date.

Switzerland is a banking / finance paradise but Swisscard definitely a big looser for credit card services. I hate to call their customer support just to find out about my current balance or limit and I also hate them to always do wrong calculations and try to charge up my bank account directly at the end of each month!! and I usually have no idea about the amount until it appears in my bank statement at the end of the month. They are also quite stupid to do wrong calculations, to try to charge my account in excessive amount and send me a WARNING letter asking me to credit my bank account!! SWISSCARD= TOTAL IDIOTS!!

Has anyone had similar experience? is there any other credit card company that offers online balance checking or statments etc.?

Thanks

Don't direct debit your CC then
UBS allows you to see your current status online. I'm going to kill the missus!!!

Yes !!!

So I gave my business to Corner Bank, you can check your balance/transaction details online.

I did try with UBS Credit Cards as well but they told me I'd need a bank account with them to access online credit card services. I'm not allowed however to have a bank account with them.

Re: Credit card Statements online

I wasnt even asked to allow them to direct debit or not.
Because Ive recently moved in and I am on a B permit (Non EU) CS told me that itd have to be Direct Debit. I have no problems with direct debit but these idiots in Swisscard did a wrong calculation and tried to charge my account 1.5 more than what I actually spended. I am so fed up with them..

Maybe UBS could be a better option..
I am trying to find out who offers the best credit card services and reliability?

If your employer is a big outfit, they may well have special deals with cc companies for cheap annual fees and free partner cards...

Re: Credit card Statements online

Viseca allows you to check your card online as well. Swisscard offers this service on certain Amex cards.

Me, I just call them to ask how much I owe them, that's how advanced my budget planning is...

Re: Credit card Statements online

I've found UBS to be extremely pleasant to deal with for online banking and for a credit card that I occasionally check online. They didn't even appear to charge me when I was a few days late paying off the credit card balance a couple of times.

Re: Credit card Statements online

It's unbelievable that Swisscard does not offer online credit card statements yet. Also, they cannot provide any ETA as to when this service will be availalbe. I would recommend Viseca.

Re: Credit card Statements online

I had a regular Amex with Swisscard, but I recently switched to their Miles & More Platinum Amex that earns 1 Swiss/Lufthansa mile for every 1 CHF spent (I'm a miles junkie).

Now this card's annual fee doesn't come cheap so I assumed that online access was a given, since I was able to access my normal Amex account this way.

I called today and asked where to find this elusive website and was told that Swisscard plans to have online access to all of their cards by the end of 2007.

So that's the word from their customer service dept. I still can't believe that they've waited this long to get the ball rolling.

**by the way, if anyone is interested in the Miles & More card, message me so that I can refer you (of course, I will earn miles)

Re: Credit card Statements online

I think COOP Supercardplus is made by Swisscard, that must mean that COOP CC card statements also cannot be found online! Edit: This is true, I now have this card and I am so pissed off by it, you cannot check statements, only have 2-3 weeks to pay etc.

On the other hand, UBS has been great, no hassles, online access, everything goes smoothly and a low fee of 0.7-1.0% as well. Shame about the cost of 100CHF in the second year though,,.,.

Does anyone know if Postfinance Visa cards have online statements? They are Viseca-driven too, but I'd like to be sure.

Hello!
If you sign up for Key Club (kind of a point system with UBS) you will get points for your bank accounts and for using your credit card. You can then use these to pay you annual fee. It works quite well and you do not need to use it sooo much to get the points needed!

As for Coop Card, they are real weird ;-) Do not want to get in a rant about them.... but they really suck.... It is good though to have a second free card for emergencies

Cheers,
Cristina

According to viseca - yes:

Quote:
Which Viseca credit cards do I need to have before I can sign up for MyAccount?

A MyAccount can be opened free of charge for every valid Viseca credit card (primary or additional card). Corporate Cards are excluded from this service.

Got myself a new m-budget MC from GE moneybank. There was no annual fees which does the trick. Anyhow i didn't know that time required to payout the CC bill is only two weeks. I thought it is like any other utility bill in Switzerland (30 days) . I received the bill on 15.12.2007 with the last day of payment 02.01.2008. But i went for my holidays from 13.12 till 10.01 thinking even if the bill arrives i will still be able to pay in 30 days times.

So i call to the GE and got a very rude response that read the contract . They refused to cut down any interest or Mahnung fees which they have to send in couple of days. So you are lucky with UBS.

I'd like to add, that I have also used cornercard for years and been happy with their online access. And...
Recently they changed some of their online security and I can now go to a foreign web site. Buy something using foreign delivery and statement addresses (for a relative abroad), use foreign details for all contact etc and only at the final stage enter my credit-card password via the cornercard security site. This is a huge improvement over some older credit cards I had where there was always a problem with addresses in one country and delivery in another.
Made purchasing very simple. Don't know if other cards work in a similar manner or if this was unusual due to the host/purchase web site.

Yes. The technology is called 3D secure.
http://www.viseca.ch/html/en/service...ema=3-D+Secure

Or depending on your actual card:
"Verified by Visa" or "MasterCard SecureCode"
