| Thanks for reading - I've been working on a B permit here since December 2007. I was working in the UK till end of August 2007, then left for France and then took the job here.
I've still got a house with a friend looking after it in the UK and some savings income in the UK. I've a got a regular salary job in Vaud and a rented flat here.
I'm guessing I might be able to avoid paying tax in the UK given I was there only April to August 2007 plus a few weekends afterwards. I haven't done my 2007-2008 return yet and haven't done a P85 to inform HMRC I've taken a job in Switzerland.
Any advice welcome and does anyone have a recommendation for a tax adviser in Lausanne or the area who I could employ to help me out, mainly with how to play it with HMRC and also the Swiss tax return.
Thank you in advance,

Any income you earn in the UK or income that is remitted to the UK is taxable in the UK. If you worked in the UK from April to August 2007 then this income is taxable in the UK.
Income that you earn here is taxable in Switzerland and you tell the HMRC the date you left the UK. Don't try to "play it with HMRC and also the Swiss tax return". This is illegal.
