Hello there!
I have been around at englishforum for a while only as a reader following threads across Permit and Tax fields.
My story in a few bullets:
- A Bulgarian male, 24
- came to CH 1.3.2008 on an L-permit valid till 31.12.2008
- Future wife came to CH 01.07.2008 on a L-permit till 01.07.2009
- Marriage planned -> 04.2009; CH authorities not informed
- Since 1.1.2009 I work on a full-time contract in Czech Rep
- With my Czech employer I have registered with my permanent address in Bulgaria, as per my ID and passport
- Fiancee signed full-time unlimited duration contract as of 01.03.2009 with current employer in Basel
- Therefore fiancee applied for B-permit Jan 30 2009, decision expected in ~ 3 months
- I entered and left CH at Zh airport twice since 1.1.2009 as a visitor w/o being asked whatever....
- I work remotely from my fiancee apt in CH
- As per Czech legislation I am allowed not to register at a permanent address in Prague since I am an EU citizen
- I am currently staying in CH as a visitor, just as my friends used to come visit me in 2008
- I am not paying health insurance in CH
- In case my fiancee has her B-permit request approved, we will apply for a spouse-B-permit for me as of May 2009, decision expected in Aug 2009
Questions are (raised by my Czech emplyer HR dept):
- Where should I pay my taxes?
- How much of a burden to my Czech employer is the fact that I live in CH (unofficially at the moment, officially from May 2009 if fiancee B-permit granted)
- Aren't taxes my personal responsibility?
Many thanks in advance.
Similar experience share would be welcome and embraced !
@ admins : please move the thread to Permits chapter if you find relevant. Thanks.
