Postfinance card in Barbados?

Anyone know if it possible to use our Postfinance cards for cash withdrawals in Barbados? We're off there for our hols in the Summer and knowing how slow Bajan banks can be, I don't really want to fiddle around with Traveller's cheques or be carrying around vast sums of USD/Bajan Dollars. I couldn't find the info on the Postfinance site and a quick google didn't get me any further.
cheers,
Paddy

Re: Postfinance card in Barbados?

Probably not, if you mean the PostFinance debit card.

Re: Postfinance card in Barbados?

If you happen to have an ( ATM card enabled ) account at BNB, you can wire the funds ahead to that account from Postfinance's E-Finance.

Alternatively, E-Finance can also be used to send cash to yourself including but not limited to Western Union - check your E-Finance console or speak to your friendly CSO at Postfinance - they are very helpful.

Re: Postfinance card in Barbados?

You can request a Travel Card from them. It is a Maestro card, and they issue it in USD, Euro and CHF.

You can use it at ATMs all around the world, and can also pay with it.

Hi PaddyG,

if your post finance card has 'id' on it as well as the "plus" insignia on the back, then you are good to go with it, most anywhere.

From the homepage go, > Products >cards >postfinance cards > card direct in CHF, then under Details and tips go to find locations abroad >ATMS worldwide, go to Barbados, key in the city/ies you will be staying in and you'll find the addresses where you can withdraw from your your account, *gasps for breath*.
I have just this week been checking it out for myself and comparing to see if I should after all, get a credit card, but when I look at it, I see no need (for myself that is).
It works perfectly anywhere you want to go just about and is cheaper than the credit cards as far as transactions go.

Anyway, have a good trip to Barbados,

Ros

Awesome! I have the ID and the Plus symbol. Seems I can use it just about anywhere. Thank you so much. Don't think I would have found it otherwise
