Dear englishforumers,

I have deregistered my Catholic faith last January (2009), and as a proof, the Church gemeinde authorities sent me a confirmation letter that they will contact Einwohnerkontrolle regarding tax adjustments.

Now, it's end of March 2009 and I just received my salary advice which did not change, meaning, the tax adjustments are not yet effected.

I have 2 questions then:
1) Any idea how long it takes from the confirmation of Church to the tax adjustments to be effected?
2) Do I need to do anything further, like advise our company HR regarding this deregistration so that tax adjustments would be effected?

When I exited the reformed church, I notified my employer's payroll department and the local commune (Gemeinde).
