JAPP | | | | | What kind of feedback or info do you want? It has similar terms and conditions to a card issued by Viseca or other providers. If you get the Halb Tax Credit card from SBB it is actually a Jelmoli Bonus Card.

I have just been PM'd about info, so i'll see what other ?'s i have after.
It was really about if there are any catches with payments in CH & abroad to a card that is free of yearly charges, as well as if the 300.- had to be spent at Jelmoli, as we don't have Jelmoli here in Luzern.
Thanks a lot.

I'm interested too. Maybe you could post a summary when you have made up your mind?
I'm in ZKB but they won't provide a Visa card until six months after the opening date of my account, so I'm in visa-limbo.

Thanks a lot. | | | | | There is the foreign exchange conversion (Wecshelkurs +Bearbeitungsgebuehr+...) you should consider if you're going to use it abroad. I did a research a couple of years ago. The best deal was VISA PostFinance (CHF).
An alternative would be to do a short trip to Germany, especially if if you are living near the border, open an EUR account at a Sparkasse and get an additional credit card. It depends on the currency you need and the amount you are planing to spend.

Was wondering if anyone that has this can tell me how to check my balance. My boyfriend told me that there is no way to follow my card's activity until a get my statements -rarely do they come on time -usually a month and a half late. I'm getting ready to travel with my friend, and I'd like to be able to jump on line and see what is on my card then have to keep track of it all on my own. I'm not that organized -unfortunately, never have been. As much as I would like it to, this is not something that is going to change over night. Please help!! I'm so frustrated!! > |

(the legal maximum in Switzerland). PostFinance for example charges «only» 0.9% and 9.5% …

Martin | | | | | Do people acually pay interest on their credit cards At the end of the month my credit cards are paid off by direct debit. I've got about 10 current credit/store cards and have never paid a rappen in interest.
I use Bonus card for Oschner Sport/Shoes and Mövenpick purchases. The only downside is that you can only use their vouchers for up to 30% of the purchase price. With Key Club points from UBS you can buy the item outright.

Can you access statements online with the Jelmoli card? (Or with the SBB Halbtax card by Jelmoli, if anyone reading has that one by any chance?)
And can you use the chip on the card to pay with your pincode at Migros or Coop? I am asking because not all chipped cards have this facility. UBS cards still require a signature at those stores.

Yes you can use the chip to pay for things anywhere that takes credit card. Be careful though, some places have the chip machines but only accept EC cards and not credit cards.

the first 1-2 statements came in a weird time period but after that all is fine
it is just a credit card like all other credit cards.. for which you don't pay a fee practically. The applications are in the main CH languages. I think that you should live in Switzerland to get the credit card - that's all. It is not necessary to be Swiss and be able to fill in the form (as some of us did)

Why would anyone abroad aim to get a Swiss credit card anyway?
